I finished 35 books last year, which is not too bad considering my major reading slump in the beginning of the year. I have read a few books that I disliked, but overall it has been a pretty succesfull reading year, my average rating being 4,4 stars and thankfully there were some great 5 stars read among them.

Into Thin Air: A Personal Account of the Mt. Everest Disaster - Jon Krakauer  Everything I Never Told You - Celeste Ng  Murder On The Orient Express - Agatha Christie  A Place of Greater Safety - Hilary Mantel  Cloud Atlas - David Mitchell  Ancillary Mercy - Ann Leckie  Sovereign - C.J. Sansom

Into Thin Air : The gripping account of the 1996 Mount Everest disaster. I just couldn´t put this book down and if you´re dying to read a book by Krakauer, grap this one and don´t waste your time on Into the Wild.

Everything I Never Told You: Devastating and heartbreaking. I bailed my eyes out at the end of the book.

Murder on the Orient Express: That ending. Wow!

A Place of Greater Safety: I still cannot believe that I finished this one. A brilliant book.

Cloud Atlas: One of my all-time favorites and destined to be read over and over again.

Ancillary Mercy: Loved the whole trilogy and especially the characters.

Sovereign: It was a matter of time before a Shardlake book would get a five star rating from me. Shardlake is just awesome.

As for 2016 I´m not doing a particular reading challenge, my plan for the year is to finish 40 books. But I thought it would be fun to read soon-to-be-movie-books (or books that are being discussed to be turned into a movie). I´m choosing twelve books (one per month) and I´m allowed to read any one of these books in any given month. But I have to finish a book before its subsequent movie has been released in German movie theaters:

The Devil in the White City by Erik Larsen

Live by Night by Dennis Lehane

The Minds of Billy Milligan by Daniel Keyes

The Lost City of Z by David Grann

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

Silence by Shusaku Endo

The Secret in Their Eyes by Eduardo Sacheri

My Cousin Rachel by Daphne du Maurier

Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer

The Light between Oceans by M.L. Stedman

Home is Burning by Dan Marshall

The Mountain between Us by Charles Martin

Have a happy reading year 2016, eyeryone :).
