
I like this novel so far, but I have a minor gripe, though. I can´t stand the way Holmes and Russell are talking about Watson. He is more or less described as a simple-minded lackey to Holmes, more of a nuisance to him than a trusted help.
I´m not familiar with the Sherlock Holmes canon, so I actually don´t know what Conan Doyles Watson is like. But still: That is just rude.
