You see he does not believe I am sick! And what can one do? If a physician of high standing, and one´s own husband, assures friends and relatives that there is nothing the matter with one but temporary nervous depression - a slight hysterical tendency - what is one to do?
"The yellow wallpaper" is about a woman, who is getting oppressed by her husband and slowly descends into madness, and the freakish things she sees in the yellow wallpaper in her room.
It´s a great classic gothic horror tale dealing with madness, depression and a woman´s lack of self-determination in the late 19th century. I really enjoyed reading it.
