Task 1: Tell us: What is the mother of all writerly sins in your book (tropes, grammar mistakes, telling instead of showing, etc.)?
For me the mother of all writerly sins is when an author puts style over substance. Take this book for example:
The author was so caught up in the gimmicky structure of his novel that he completely failed to come up with a satisfying ending. So what is the good of it when a book has an unique structure, but the story in itself is a huge letdown. It is the story that counts and in the end, I´m reading a book because of the story. And I want the story to be a good one!
