Crocodile on the Sandbank - Barbara Rosenblat, Elizabeth Peters

I haven´t been particularly fond of this book the first time I read it, but I thought I would give it another chance on audio. And I´m afraid, I just can´t do it anymore.

This book is just so boring and plotwise there is not enough going on for 9 hours of an audiobook. What a snoozefest.

And I cannot stand the grandmotherly tone of the narrative. It feels like Amelia is telling her grandchildren how she has met good old grandpa. Due to some skimreading I have found out that Amelia is 34 when she recounts her story to "the dear reader" ... yeah, whatever.
