Three years was a long time to have been dead. Philip had been a widower for more than three years, and in about half an hour somebody would call him to telephone and a voice - her voice - would impart the glad tidings that Anne Jocelyn wasn´t dead. It gave her a good deal of pleasure to think about telling Philip that he wasn´t a widower after all.
I´m quite in awe of her plan to scare the bejesus out of her husband.
Themis recommended to me to start with one of the later Miss Silver books in the series. So instead of reading "Grey Mask", I´m going for this one. It´s my first book by Patricia Wentworth, so I´m excited to read this one.
