I´m at a bit of a loss with this book.
Somehow I thought that the earthquake would be the big climax of the book. But now the earthquake is over and the city of San Francisco is burning ... and nothing exciting has happened.
Instead, the main character Sara and the people she is living with have to flee the fire and they have to go to the old Varady mansion, where the actual plot of the book is about to happen. At least I assume so.
But if that is the case, I wonder why I had to wait 180 pages to get to the actual plot. Or why I have to suffer through Sara´s insufferable behaviour, whenever Richie is around (I hate that guy).
